Program for Tibetan Uprising Day on Monday, March 10
4-6 p.m.--Tibetan Uprising Rally at Windows on the Bay, across from McDonald's on Del Monte Blvd. in Monterey. Signs and flags will be provided.
6:30 to 8 p.m.--Presentation and refreshments at Wave St. Studios, 774 Wave St., Monterey, CA 93940- Presentation by Rinpoche--Story
of his dramatic escape from Tibet across the Himalayas; current
situation in Tibet; and recent persecution of a young abbott and monks
at Rinpoche's monastery in Kham, Tibet.
- Movie screening--"Cry of the Snow Lion", described by reviewers as "an extraordinary documentary about the near-destruction of an
enlightened 1,700-year-old culture, the incredible suffering of a
violated people, and the spiritual survival of hope in the hearts of
those who believe that one day they will be able to retaste the joys
of freedom."
- Refreshments will be served. Free event, donations appreciated.
