At the Retreat

In the quiet and scenic setting of Villa Angelica, you will find the simplicity of being in nature while being within a spiritual community with the warm and compassionate guidance of Khenpo Karten Rinpoche.

In order to benefit the most from our time with this special teacher, we request that you make a commitment to the Dharma during the retreat. Please turn off your cell phones for the duration of your stay. We also ask that you leave behind your laptops, iPods and other communication devices so that you can commit to your retreat wholeheartedly and reap the benefits of your commitment to this special retreat.

Meals will be prepared by our group in the well-equipped kitchen at the Villa. The menu will include simple, healthy and vegetarian dishes. If you have special food needs, please bring what you need.

Seating for the sessions will be on cushions on the floor (please bring your own, if possible) or comfortable chairs.

The typical weather in the Carmel area at this time of the year can be cool and perhaps rainy. Please bring layered clothing, a wrap works well for sitting in the teaching. Walking shoes would be good if you want to go to the nearby beach or Point Lobos during our breaks.
